A secession will now happen instantly, and will always result in the
entire duchy - all regions, troops and characters - becoming part of the
new realm.
I don't like this part of the new secession implementation. It takes a
lot of the fun out of that part of the game.
A duke no longer has to hope that enough of his knights will follow him
into secession. This takes away from the task of a Duke to win over his
knights, now they have no choice. (now I know that anyone who has sworn
an oath is supposed to follow that oath according to medieval code, but
that doesn't always happen in real life or the game). It is up to the
knight(their RP'd character and personality) to decide whether or not to
follow that oath.
Lords and knights should be able to choose if they think their loyalty
resides with the realm or their leige(of course it should with their
liege :P but it is still their choice.
This also messes with the new realms lines of communications as there
will undoubtedly be numerous nobles who will return to the original
realm. Attempting to send messages to only those who have declared
themselves loyal to the former Duke will be annoying to say the least.
This will also take away from the fun of the nobles under the Duke. They
no longer have to make the soul wrenching choice of joining the
rebellion or turning their back on their oath to the duke.
Please don't take the fun out of the RP'd characters and how their
personalities affect secessions.
