That's funny.  I'm exactly the opposite.  I hardly ever read things
titled as "Letter".  I find that a large portion of the time, it is
something that is half-IC and half-OOC.  Or ambiguous.  This is likely
because Letter is the default value when sending a message.  I usually
just ignore the "Letters" and read the other things.  I never use the
Letter category at all.

Perhaps what needs to be done is to change the default to something
that is invalid so one has to actually choose what category your
message is.
