In you're right in asking why do people think it's unfair. Why should
people in a larger realm be penalized for good politics, good military
and a generally good realm. Diplomacy not working? Elect a new ruler.
Military not working? Get a new general and new marshals (perhaps
people will stop siding with those currently in power just because
they're in power, the number one reason realms suck and get destroyed,
anyone speaks out, and even if they're right, they're told ic and ooc
that they're just there to cause trouble). Do not punish people simply
for doing things right. There is a reason Rome was feared, there is a
reason the Holy Roman Empire was feared, there was a reason the Persian
Empire was feared. Large realms aren't impossible to beat and generally
speaking they don't just attack someone for no reason what-so-ever, they
didn't get the way they were by doing such foolish things.
