Membership fees and grants are supposed to be handled by adjusting the 
character's balance with the guild/religion. No gold is taken from or given to the 
character automatically. If you have a 5 gold per month fee, then your balance 
with the guild/religion will drop by 5 gold per month. It is up to you to go to a 
temple/guildhouse and pay it.

Similarly, if you have a grant of 5 gold a month, then your balance will increase 
by 5 gold a month. It will be up to you to go to a temple/guildhose and 
withdraw that gold, if you so desire.

All gold paid in fees is sent to the local treasuery where it is deposited.

All gold taken out in grants must be taken from a branch where the gold 
already is on deposit.
