* Better resting options so you can recover fatigue more efficiently
* Better travel options so you can travel faster and with less fatigue
* Travel taxes so you can move between regions
Just like in the real world, money helps you do things faster and more
efficiently, so you have more time to do what you really want to do, which is
have fun bashing monsters or acquiring more items.

Selling the item can get you three things, off the top of my head.
1. Money
2. Recommendations for nobility
3. Notoriety among the nobles as being a person who can get them the unique
items they want.
Or you can just hold onto them and keep them.
Just because you *can* sell an item doesn't mean you *have* to sell an item. If
you don't want to sell it, then don't.
