While the principle is sound, the practice is...ah...impractical.
People won't change. They will continue to want to powergame, and
micromanage, and circumvent. *They will continue to want to win the
game.*
Yes, we can institute harsher rules, and bolt anyone who even thinks
about putting a foot out of line, but that'll only drive off people
who aren't doing anything wrong, and get punished anyway.
Unless we're willing to make treating the disease our full-time jobs,
we're not going to be very successful at it. The best we'll be able
to achieve is people grumbling about not being able to do things they
feel like they should be able to.
Changing code is a LOT easier than changing people.
