[Discuss] Adventurers in prison

My adventurer got tossed in prison a few days age for belonging to the
wrong realm. I've reported a few bugs related to this, but also had
some thoughts about how prisoners should interact with prisons in
general.
Right now I seem to be getting the noble treatment- big ransom,
private cell, able to communicate with the judges and rulers of the
land, and the like. (Though I apparently have to pay for my food and
room, which is amusing in a very darkly comic way)
And maybe a few of those might fit for a particularly prestigious
adventurer, but for the common rabble it just doesn't seem to fit.
It seems to me that your common adventurer would be tossed in a group
cell with all the other commoners- beggars, tax delinquents, thieves,
and the like. This would open up a couple of interesting options-
1) Bribes that start at a few gold, running down to the silver range-
you only need to pay off the guard to look the other way, not pay a
noble ransom to get free
2) You can get word to the local judge or ruler if you're lucky- but
it's likely that they won't have time for listening to commoners,
unless they specifically take the time for it. Maybe only a 25% chance
that the guards actually bother to pass your message along- even if
you pay them for it.
3) The ability to chat with the other commoners and perhaps gain some
information about the realm you're in or with other PC adventurers
that have been picked up.
4) For a more skilled adventurer, the ability to rabble rouse a bit,
maybe even arrange a prison revolt or mass breakout (those political
dissidents turned up by police work? Now they're back on the streets)
5) More personal chances of breaking out- after all, getting out of
tight situations is right up an adventurer's alley
