A *long* time.  As in, *months* real time.

If you've murdered thousands of them, they are *not* going to just  
turn around and like you because you don't take *quite* as much of  
their money for a short time, or because you reduce their paperwork  
load a little.

You need to regain their trust, and that is *not* something for the  
impatient.
