I think you don't understand what the goals were to begin with, and  
thus cannot understand how badly things have failed.

There were rules drawn up for how the FEI was to be conducted.  The  
people in charge at the start followed them, but they are no longer  
being followed.  *That means it has failed.*

There may still be a little more of some kinds of roleplay in some  
realms, but the Roleplay Continent is dead, I quite assure you.
