You do realize that this is a big incentive for nobles to not treat
adventurers like the rabble they are.  After all, who is an adventurer going
to offer an item to, a noble who treats them like dirt or one who treats him
with respect?  And don't say that he'll trade it for the most gold, because
there's not much for an adventurer to do with gold and if he doesn't do
something with it it gets taxed away very quickly.
