When I'm in enemy territory I get arrested, not assassinated. Being in hostile lands is actually better for my health :)
But I'm not debating that priests aren't valid targets, I'm saying that it's ridiculous how easy they are to wound no matter where they are. There should be some checks on this, be they making the assassination itself harder or by penalizing the act somehow.
