[Discuss] advy prison.. ways to secure early release

given adventurers almost never have that kind of cash on them to pay the 
ransom (makes sense! not that my nobles usually have that kind of cash 
to pay the ransom either.. but that's neither here nor there) should 
there be some other method to secure their early release?

for example... advy.. you are scum of the earth.. you can do some hard 
labour... that might "pay" for your early release. obviously you can get 
maimed or what not whilst doing it (wounded/seriously wounded.. .death? 
maybe) but what do I care. obviously... there's also a chance to escape 
whilst slaving away...

basically a small amount of gold is generated to emulate ransom. would 
judges have a lower reputation or whatever of the "new" stat point if 
they allow hard labour?

or is the idea too prone to ooc abuse?
