Should be +1 Prestige only. The prestige given by the item will increase over
time as it is used in battle. It may eventually hit +6 prestige, or even higher.

Incorrect. Nobles that are seriously wounded or killed in battle are killed by
another noble. You can see this effect when a noble with a bounty is seriously
wounded or killed in battle. Someone on the other side is chose to be the one
that caused the wound/death, and the bounty is awarded to them. I have seen
this happen a few times. It is a relatively rare situation, though.

You don't have to be gathering to find it. An advy can find a unique item by
doing *anything* in the region. One advy on BT traveled into a Grehk and the
"You have arrived in..." message also included a note about how the gods must
be smiling on him, because he happened to find the Daimonic Dagger of
something-or-other.
IMO, having an advy find it and sell it to a noble allows more players to get
involved in the story. It also allows more opportunities for advy's.

Unless it was lost in the confusion of battle. It's possible that the
sword/mace/shield was picked up by some random soldier, who later died from
his wounds miles away from the battlefield. Or that the noble lost the item
*before* he died. After all, a unique item can be lost when you get seriously
wounded. It's quite possible that the hero'sitem was lost during the initial
wounding, and not during the final killing blow. (Besides which, there may not
have been a final "killing blow", they could die from blood loss, complications of
the wound, infection, etc.)
You can't say that things "walways" happen this way or that way. There are an
incredible multitude of ways that things could have happened. After all, if it
always happened the same way, that would be boring.

Meh... This option doesn't reaslly do anything for me one way or the other. I
have no strong opinions about it one way or the other.
