This doesn't apply to the militia option. Incoherent styles I say ;)
When I hit the link I can see a list of militia units and can decide which
one I want to disband and so on:

Rulers and commanders can disband militia units. In order to do so, you have
to visit the unit personally and pay them 2 days pay in addition to whatever
they may still be owed in regular pay.
