You will want to pause your character. I have made it so one won't
lose the sponsorship if it's paused by the player.

If a character is auto-paused by the game, on the contrary, the
sponsorship will still be transferred; emergencies usually won't take
up to a week, hence auto-pausing often implies real inactivities. I
know this isn't universal for all cases, but that's the rule we're
going to set for the foreseeable while.
