[Discuss] restrictions on adding regions to a Duchy?

I'm the lord of a region in the Colonies. I've been the lord there for about
4 months. The option to join the only Duchy in my realm has never come up
(we only have 1 city). My region has been an Imperial region since the
start.

Is this a bug? Or are there restrictions on joining a Duchy?

Further info: I have the option to join the 3 other neighbouring Duchies,
but not my own.

So, either I am already part of the Duchy, but still considered an Imperial
region (therefore a bug, correct?), or I am NOT part of the Duchy, and the
missing option to join my Duchy is a bug.

If there is something I'm unaware off (such as special restrictions on
joining), please let me know!
