I think this whole debate is based around this:
On one side, the option says and is named one thing. Question
nobility. The people that take that to heart say that is what is
being done and it shouldn't be taken lightly, but should be extremely
disturbing.
On the other side, the option says one thing, but does another. It
strips titles and causes honour/prestige losses all around. The
person is left a Noble. They get taxes, they vote, they lose nothing
in the game besides their titles and some honour/prestige. So, in
effect, the option, no matter what it is called, is really Strip
Titles.
So the argument really boils down to one of how seriously one takes
the title of the option when its implementation does not match its
title. What's really in a name?
I don't think those of either side could be convinced to side with the other.
