[Discuss] Feature Suggestion: Personal claims

I've actually been toying with a vaguely similar idea, but with the  
basis being that you could simply assert a claim on a region (which  
would probably require some minimum amount of honour and/or  
prestige...or possibly, now, repute).  What you could then do with  
it, I've not been quite sure, but ideas included becoming the lord  
automatically if your claim was left undisputed for long enough,  
taking the region from its current lord if you could beat him in  
something (a duel? an actual battle? something else?), or even taking  
it from another realm under similar criteria.

Another possible aspect to it I thought of was having others  
recognize your claims, and if enough other people recognized your  
claim on a piece of land, it would either be much easier to actually  
take, or it would happen automatically.  However, I've not been able  
to come up with a good way to balance that, as I fear it would end up  
making large powerful realms with many allies *even more* powerful...
