You can freely choose your class. Nobody can tell you different or 
punish your for your choice of class.

In the case of Priests, that obviously includes choosing a religion.

However, you do not have freedom of religion in BM. You _can_ be 
threatened, banned, punished or whatever if you are in the wrong 
religion. Note that I said "wrong". I didn't say "any". For all I (and 
the game mechanics) care, this weird thing called "Atheism", which was 
for all intents and purposes a completely alien concept to medieval man, 
is just another religion.
