Why? That wastes time that could be spent using your free training.
Anyway, I never go to the academy just to estimate: I just remember
what my skill was before, and when I go to the academy I always try
for some skill gain (usually 6hrs with the expert tutor these days...)

Hmm, interesting. I've never tried calculating it out myself,
largely because of the inaccuracies involved, which make it too much
trouble to bother with. It's always seemed to be *around* 1% per
gain for me. However, the important thing is that it's very clearly
*not* automatically 5% per "You improved your swordfighting skill!"
message, as some people have assumed.
