It doesn't have to make sense. Tradition works that way. It doesn't make
sense for two people of noble birth with immense wealth to duel to the
death over some minor matter, either. And yet it happened.
These game-mechanics restrictions exist because very few players have a
concept of Honour that comes even close to being a shadow of a weak copy
of what Honour and Tradition meant for middle age man.
There were some things you simply didn't say about a king. There were
some things that members of the royal family were above. The weird idea
that common peasants and noble people were somehow "alike" was a
completely alien, if not heretic, fantasy. These are some things that we
today, with our different upbringing, don't understand except on an
intellectual level.
