But those traditions don't mean you'd get any protection in your realm
- they mean other realms would treat you as royal. Your people have
rebelled against you (with words, rather than swords, but it's still
basically a rebellion) - they don't consider you royal and won't offer
you any protection.
I think the only former-royals that should get protection are those
that stopped being ruler because of term limits (which don't actually
exist in BM). Real life example: former US presidents get secret
service protection, diplomatic passports and things after reaching the
end of their term. If they were forced out by a vote of no confidence,
I'm not sure if they'd get that or not - they certainly wouldn't have
any kind of diplomatic immunity within their own country.
