[Discuss] Too many messages!

There are too many messages at the large Atamara tournament. This is
not a complaint that I can't read the messages (I simply ignore most
of them), it's a complaint about the actual size of the page. In order
to double check a recent message I have to load all the messages for
the past day, which is currently just short of half a megabyte of
text. I have a fast connection, and it still takes a good few seconds
to load. By my quick calculations, it would take someone on dial-up
about 2 minutes to load.

I don't know how many BM users are on dial-up, but I imagine it's
enough for this to be a significant concern.

Short of reforming the entire message system, I think the best
solution is an option for viewing recent messages from a period of
less than a day. How about either "from last 3 hours" or if it's
possible to code easily "last 50 messages". (The exact numbers can be
whatever Tom considers appropriate, of course.)
