I fail to see what the problem with the IC EI alliances.

The issue is when people get all het up OOC about what's going on;
which is when the slightest anomaly in a battle report or rebellion
leads to shouts of cheating.

If people were to chill out a bit and play as Tom suggests (a game
amongst friends), then the rich history of EI and those deeply
entrenched battle lines would be something to celebrate rather than
deride.

It's not the fault of the characters that there's unnecessary tension
on EI, it's the fault of those players who lose sight of what the game
is about.
