Well, one idea that wouldn't really do away with the problem, but would
give people some choice, is making the islands change turn at different
times. Say East Island turn change is at 17:00, Atamara at 18:00,
Beluaterra at 19:00 and so on. It would give some room for people to
choose an island that suits their timetable the best. Though it would
probably slow down the server a bit more oftent.
Other than that, every time I've seen someone get reprimended for not
following orders(which in itself is not a bad thing!) and they've
defended with an OOC message saying "Sorry, but I have a real life and
missed the order due to that" the issue has been dropped right there and
then. No punishment and in the future the general knows to take it into
account that his character might miss half-turns sometimes. So usually
it's just a matter of those in power not yet knowing wether that player
has a turn change happen at bad time for him or wether he just willingly
chose to ignore the order.
