[Discuss] Theoretical realistic messaging

It has all been said previously, but I'll put my 2 cents in as well.

" BattleMaster is designed to be a light-weight game. Most online games
require that you spend hours every day if you want to achieve anything, and
reward only the most dedicated players, which usually means those with
nothing else to do with their day.
BattleMaster is meant to be played alongside your other activities, and you
will not gain much advantage from spending more than the few minutes a
normal turn takes."

Quoted from the front page. I believe this new realistic message system
completely takes away from the "lightness" of the game. People who love to
play the game, but only have time to login maybe 5 minute a turn are going
to have a hell of a time. They must now login a lot more in order to see
that they did not miss any messages or orders.

There is already often a time lag between messages because people can't
respond to them in RL for 6 hours, now they login and respond...then it
takes another 4 hours for their mesasge to arrive. This takes away from the
FUN of the game. The beauty of BM is that it is able to nicely combine
realism with a lot of fun aspects. This will take away from the fun.

Also can you imagine the chaos of attempting to figure out exactly when
messages were sent from people trying to have a conversation from different
areas. Discussions and simple fun conversations are going to be impossible.
Person A B C and D are having a fun conversation. Person A B and C are in
the same region, person D is 3 regions over. No it would not be realistic
for person D's messages to arrive instantly, but when that person's message
to person A's comment arrives 5 hours after the conversation has
ended...conversation is then pointless.

I love adding realism to the game! Especially if it has historical
significance, but I think this would drastically decrease the fun and
lightness of the game. You HAVE to learn to balance realism with what is
fun. I do not believe this new message idea takes that into consideration at
all.
