Rulers can't die (unless they're heros/infils), so replacing them when
they're wounded is pretty much the only way to force a change in
leadership.  The same person ruling a realm for 100s of years isn't
realistic - they would die of old age first.  We don't have death by
old age in BM, so we need something else.
