While democracy is not a good method of leadership, it is a good way
of shifting the blame away from any one person or group.  We won't get
as good decisions as we would if Tom or the Titans were making them,
in many cases, but at least people would accept the decisions and
wouldn't complain (as much, anyway - there's always room for a
conspiracy theory).
