There's already a feature for that - set the joining rate for the
lowest full member rank, and aspirants can buy a promotion to that
rank. The gold goes to the treasury without being credited to their
account.

I think what's really needed is a "Send gold to member of the guild"
option (for elders) and a "Send gold to the guild" option (for
everyone). ie. ways to put money into the treasury and take money out
without changing anyone's balance.
