*To the best of my understanding* (see, clearly marked!) it's not  
against the rules to have the same guild on different continents:  
they just won't ever be linked in the code.

And an aside, this is one of the speculations/rumours/ 
misunderstandings that I have been doing my best to squash for a  
while now, that Tom *prohibited* having guilds span continents.  In  
fact, my recollection is that he simply prohibited asking for it as a  
feature, because a) it will never ever happen, and b) he was sick of  
people asking ;-)

...Of course, if I'm wrong, I'll be happy to be corrected by Tom  
(well, actually, I'll be quite surprised and a little disappointed to  
be corrected, but you know what I mean).
