Since I don't see anyone else volunteering, I'll take my hand at a few
ideas here.

For Ruler turnover-- have a chance for easier pseudo-rebellions when
the ruler is gone if lead by certain people. Dukes for instance, maybe
also generals and simply some people with high prestige. They can
declair themself the rightful king, and it would set up a kind of
rebellion, however there would be no malitia working with the issue,
no government services blocked from either side. If the challenger and
his forces manage to take the capital before the king recovers from
his status (give or take a turn), they take rulership.

About Rulers-- They are in a lot of stress, arn't they. Stress isn't
good for the body, it could make them sicker for longer... Perhaps a
small increase in the length of serious wounds for rulers is in order?

Also, all that stress over the years adds up, a ruler couldn't
possibly live as long, even if the stress is offset by more luxurious
foods. Hey, those foods might hurt the conditions being caused by the
stress. So perhaps they should age a tiny bit faster... (How old is
Doc? shouldn't we be seeing a natural old age death sometime soon?)

Finally, Rulers in prison... why would a judge dare release such an
important figure of their enemy in only 7 days? Ransom should be much
greater for the king, but perhaps payable by the judge/banker of the
ruler's realm. Otherwise let the ruler sit in that prison for 2 weeks
or so, maybe 3 even. With a lower chance of escape-- as such a person
would naturally deserve more guards.

Also, when a ruler is gone from action, perhaps some of the realm
should take moral/loyalty damage...

As for region lords-- Perhaps a few things could be done. Such as when
a Region lord is out of action, a knight with sufficient gold in hand
(between 50 and 100, higher even depending on region type), could when
in the region have the administration switch over the power. That or
the king could do it if he were in the region.

Well there are a few ideas there, hopefully people can stop flaming
their opinions with something thats been established and actually
(GASP!) constructivly build something out of this.
